Following the successful reception of our trial operations in 2024, Mattalabs Foods Inc. was formally incorporated in Canada in 2025. This formal establishment strengthens our North American presence and marks a significant milestone in our international expansion.

Mattalabs Foods Inc. (Canada) focuses on international branding, overseas operations, and global distribution, while Mattalabs Foods Private Limited (India) continues to lead domestic manufacturing, food production, and local operations. Together, both entities operate under the Taste of Guardians brand globally, leveraging our IP and proprietary products.

Formal Structuring & Overseas Expansion

After applying for formal corporate structuring in 2023, Mattalabs Foods Private Limited (India) completed its formal structure in 2024 and officially adopted the international brand identity Taste of Guardians (TOG), including registration of our intellectual property (IP).

Our digital presence was also modernized by transitioning from the old domain gurukirparestaurant.com to the globally recognizable tasteofguardians.com.

2024 marked our official entry into overseas markets. We ceased white-label distribution to other brands and local buyers, focusing entirely on our own IP, brand, and direct international operations.

Mattalabs now serves as our dedicated technology division, supporting innovation, cybersecurity, and global digital infrastructure.

  • 2024: Launched franchising opportunities to expand the Taste of Guardians brand globally.
  • 2024: Continued our family tradition in the premium and heritage food business through global operations, including restaurants, import/export, and the manufacturing of premium and heritage spices, herbs, tea, coffee, and other Asian essentials, while also importing and exporting both branded and non-branded food products under brand licensing and necessary NOCs.

  • 2017: Upgraded location in Sion, Mumbai.

  • 2009: Relocated to Sion, Mumbai.
  • 2009: Guru Kirpa Incorporated (Note: Some people referred to us as "Guru Kripa" or used similar variations during this period, causing occasional confusion.)
  • 2001: Rebranded from Koilwada Fish to Guru Kirpa and relocated within Sanctrustus, Juhu.
  • 1995: Relocated from Bhandup, Bombay to Sanctrustus, Juhu. (Our historical table made of ship metal is still present at the same location.)
  • 1950: Around 1950, our family moved to Mumbai and continued our tradition of running premium and heritage food businesses, including premium and heritage restaurants and the premium and heritage spices business, relocating as needed.
  • 1947: Relocated a restaurant from Western Punjab (Peshawar, today in Pakistan) to Amritsar and started a new restaurant.
  • 1924: Year marked as the beginning of our journey. (Note: Our family has been involved in the food business even long before 1924.)
